Connecting Google Search Console

Updated March 11, 2026

Content Raptor needs access to your Google Search Console (GSC) data to find your best optimization opportunities.

Why GSC Is Required

Google Search Console tells Content Raptor which search terms bring visitors to your site, how often your pages appear in results, and where you currently rank. Without this data, Content Raptor cannot identify optimization opportunities.

Content Raptor requests read-only access — it can see your search data but never modifies your GSC account. You can revoke access at any time from your Google account permissions.

How to Connect

Method 1: During Onboarding

  1. When prompted, click "Connect Google Search Console".
  2. Sign in with the Google Account that manages your website.
  3. Click "Allow" to grant read-only access.
  4. Select your website property from the list.
  5. Click "Import Property".

Method 2: From Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Search Console.
  2. Click "Connect Google Search Console".
  3. Follow the Google sign-in flow.
  4. Select your property and import.

Troubleshooting

"No Properties Found"

  • Ensure you signed in with the correct Google account.
  • Verify that you have "Owner" or "Full User" permissions in GSC for that site. You can check this in GSC under Settings > Users and permissions.
  • Ensure your site is actually set up in GSC (visit search.google.com to check).

"Import Failed"

  • Most sites import in a few minutes. Larger sites (1,000+ pages) can take up to 24 hours.
  • If it stalls, refresh the page and try again.
  • Contact support if it fails repeatedly.

What to Expect After Connecting

After importing a property, Content Raptor begins syncing and analyzing your search data. Most sites are ready within a few minutes. Larger sites (1,000+ pages) can take up to 24 hours. Once processing is complete, your Home page will populate with optimization opportunities.

Common Questions

Can I connect multiple sites?

Yes. You can import multiple properties. Go to Settings > Search Console and use the dropdown to switch between active properties or add new ones.

What data does Content Raptor access?

Search queries, page URLs, impressions, clicks, click-through rate, and average position — the same data you see in GSC's Performance report. Content Raptor does not access any other Google services or data.
