Using the Free Tier

Updated March 11, 2026

The free tier provides access to Content Raptor's core opportunity-finding features, including keyword and page opportunities, and keyword variant detection. It is designed to help you identify high-impact SEO improvements using your Google Search Console data.

New accounts include a free 7-day Pro trial — you get full access to every Pro feature (AI writing, A/B testing, rank tracking) for 7 days. After the trial, your account moves to the free tier described below. No credit card required.

What's Included

The free tier includes:

  • 25 optimization opportunities — The top keywords and pages where your site has room to grow, ranked by potential traffic gain. You unlock 5 more each week.
  • Keyword variant detection — Automatic grouping of related search queries to identify content gaps.

Note: The free tier focuses on opportunity discovery. Features like AI-powered writing in the Page Optimizer editor, A/B testing, and rank tracking require a paid plan. See the comparison table below for details.

Keyword Opportunities

The Keyword Opportunities table displays your Google Search Console data alongside two additional columns calculated by Content Raptor:

  • Query — The search query from GSC
  • URL — The page currently ranking for that query
  • Clicks, Impressions, CTR, Position — Standard GSC metrics
  • Potential Traffic Gain — An estimate of the additional monthly visitors the page could receive if it ranked #1 with a typical click-through rate for that position. This column determines how opportunities are prioritized.
  • Found in Page Text — Indicates whether any variation of the query appears in the ranking page's content. If no variant is found, the keyword represents a content gap that can be addressed by adding relevant text to the page.

Keywords with high Potential Traffic Gain and a "not found" status in the Found in Page Text column are typically the strongest optimization candidates.

Page Opportunities

The Page Opportunities view groups keyword data by URL, making it easier to prioritize which pages to optimize first. Each row shows:

  • Page URL — The page on your site
  • Page-level traffic gap — The total estimated traffic gain across all keywords for that page
  • Current vs. potential traffic — A comparison of the page's current traffic and what it could earn

Hovering over individual keywords within a page row displays the projected daily visitor increase for that keyword.

How Keyword Variants Work

Content Raptor does not check only for exact query matches. For each keyword, it collects all close variants that Google Search Console associates with the same page — for example, "free SERP checker," "SERP checker free," and "SERPs checker free" are all treated as variants of the same intent.

The page content is then scanned for any of these variant phrases. This approach provides:

  • Broader coverage — Google treats close variants as a single intent cluster, so checking for all of them gives a more accurate picture of whether the topic is addressed on the page.
  • Fewer missed opportunities — A page may already mention a variant without using the exact query. Variant detection prevents false negatives.

If no variant is found on the page, adding a natural mention of the keyword or one of its variants (in a heading, paragraph, image alt text, or other on-page element) can improve relevance for the entire keyword cluster.
