Tracking Your Progress

Updated March 11, 2026

The editor's header bar displays the key metrics you need to gauge your content's readiness.

The Key Metrics

All metrics appear in the top header bar of the editor.

1. Entity Coverage Score (The Most Important One)

A percentage (0-100%) showing how well you are covering important topics compared to competitors.

  • Goal — Reach the green "Optimal Range" shown under the score
  • How to improve — Add the Red entities in the sidebar

2. Word Count

Your current article length.

  • Guideline — Aim for 1,000+ words for most content. Use competitor word counts in the Brief as a better benchmark than fixed numbers
  • Note — Quality matters more than quantity. Don't fluff to hit a number

3. Outline Progress

How many sections of your outline you have filled in.

  • Example — "3 / 8 Sections"
  • Use it — To make sure you don't skip planned topics

4. Traffic Opportunity

Estimated additional monthly visitors if you reach top positions. This is calculated based on the keyword's search volume and typical click-through rates for top positions.

  • Use it — For motivation and prioritization. This number reminds you why the work matters

How to Use These Metrics While Writing

  1. Start Writing: Don't obsess over metrics at the beginning. Focus on getting your ideas down.
  2. Check Midway: Around 1000 words, glance at the Entity Score. Are you in the red? Add missing entities.
  3. Finish Strong: Before marking as complete, ensure:
    • Entity Score is Green (in optimal range).
    • Word Count is 1,000+.
    • Outline is Complete (all sections have at least a paragraph of content).

When your Entity Score is green, your outline is complete, and you are satisfied with the writing quality, you are ready to finish. See Marking Content as Complete for the next steps.

Note: These targets are guidelines, not strict rules. A shorter article that's comprehensive and well-written can be just as effective — the competitor word counts in your Brief are a better benchmark than any fixed number.

Common Questions

What is a good entity score?

Aim for the "Optimal Range" shown beneath the score in the sidebar. You do not need 100% — matching or slightly exceeding the competitor average is sufficient.

Do metrics save between sessions?

Yes. Your progress is saved automatically every few seconds. You can close the editor and return anytime without losing work.
