Understanding Your Home Page
The Home page is your landing page after logging in. It combines your current optimization work with your best opportunities, so you always know what to do next.
Welcome Banner
The banner at the top shows your activity streak (consecutive days you've worked on optimizations) and your total pages optimized count. This is a quick snapshot of your recent momentum.
Hero Card
The large card below the banner is the single most important item on the page. It changes based on your current status:
- "Connect GSC" — You haven't connected Google Search Console yet. This is required before Content Raptor can find opportunities. See Connecting Google Search Console
- "Create First Task" — GSC is connected but you haven't started any optimizations yet. Click to begin
- Continue Optimizing — You have an active optimization task. The card shows the keyword, your current ranking position, how your position compares to competitors, and a progress indicator so you can jump back in where you left off
Filter Tabs
Three tabs control what content appears below the hero card:
- All — Everything together: your in-progress tasks and top opportunities
- In Progress — Only your active optimization tasks. Use this when you want to focus on finishing current work
- Opportunities — Only pages with optimization potential. Use this when you're ready to start something new
Other Tasks in Progress
If you have multiple active optimizations, they appear as smaller cards below the hero card. Click any card to continue working on that task. If you have more tasks than fit on the page, a "View all" link takes you to the full Optimizer Tasks board.
Top Opportunities
Below your active work, Content Raptor surfaces your best optimization opportunities — pages where better content could improve your rankings. Each opportunity card shows the page URL and its potential. Click any card to start a new optimization for that page.
Choosing What to Work On
If you have multiple opportunities, prioritize based on:
- Potential traffic gain — Higher potential means more visitors if you rank well
- Current position — Keywords ranking 4–20 are closest to top positions and often easiest to improve
- Relevance — Choose keywords that match your business goals, not just high-volume terms
Common Questions
Why don't I see any opportunities?
Two common reasons:
- GSC not connected — You need to connect Google Search Console first
- No ranking data yet — Content Raptor needs existing search performance data to find opportunities. If your site is new or doesn't have rankings yet, there won't be opportunities to show
How often does the data update?
Google Search Console data typically updates daily. After connecting GSC, most sites are ready within a few minutes. Larger sites can take up to 24 hours to fully process.
What does the activity streak track?
The streak counts consecutive days where you've worked on at least one optimization task. It resets if you skip a day. It's a motivational tool — there's no penalty for a broken streak.
